Well, we’ve been here in Hawaii for a week and a half. I know that I am still in the honeymoon phase at this moment, but yes, I am in love. Yet, this post is about ONE of the reasons I love Hawaii. My NEW WARDROBE.
I have never lived in a place where having your bathing suit on everyday is completely NORMAL. I love how women don’t care what they look like here and they walk around in bikinis completely tall and proud no matter their size or weight.
I love how it’s too hot to spend too much time and attention on your hair, makeup, or designer jeans.
I love how the sun kisses your skin with a beautiful glow…and I’m not talking about unhealthy tanning, I’m talking about that feeling you have to your skin after you’ve had a day at the beach–sweat, sunscreen, and saltwater mixture. Yum.
So, now I’m pretty sure that I am going to be on the look out constantly for affordable and comfortable bathing suits. I’ve taken a picture of the four that I have now. AAAAnnnddd, a picture of two girls that I thought were just as cute as can be in their skirt-kinis on the beach.
Yet even today, I found a bit of my old mentality setting in, when a beautiful, tall, long, and lean girl walked onto the beach that I was on. We were practically the only two on the beach. She was gorgeous and I immediately looked down at my thighs and thought…I should not tell her that I am a trainer. People with cellulite should not be trainers. Despite my inadequacy with her beside me, I engaged her in conversation and found that she lives in the house that we are buying!!! What? Small world. And yes, I did tell her I was a trainer when she asked.
Later I realized how ridiculous it was that I had let those thoughts in. Yet it shows you that along the way, we all get caught up in negative thought that if we can’t stop and change, then we allow the spiral.
So I’m glad to be here…in a world where the care about our bodies doesn’t paralyze us.
As I collect swimwear I’ll post them!
And if you think about it…send me some of your favorites. ALL body types, please send me a picture of you in your favorite bathing suit!
If you send me a write up as well about why you love that bathing suit and why you love YOU in that bathing suit, I’ll do a featured post on you! Please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Remember to live in Hawaii style…Rock your body as it is…tall and proud.
